Despite less than perfect tennis weather, about four dozen tennis enthusiasts made the second annual Millburn High School boys' varsity tennis clinic a rousing success. Participants from age 5 to 55 took group lessons or private hitting sessions with members of the varsity team on Sunday morning and Monday.
The clinic and a fun "pro-am" doubles tournament scheduled for Saturday are fundraisers to support the team's pre-season training trip to upstate New York.
Some of the participants will join other competitors on Saturday for the team's first pro-am tournament. Each participant will be paired with a varsity player for a doubles competition. Groups include young teens and pre-teens, mixed doubles, and mens' doubles. Refreshments and prizes will be provided.
