Millburn 1st Responders Rescue Short Hills Resident After Fall Into Well

A male victim fell six feet into a water holding tank hole in front of a Berkeley Road home in Short Hills, according to the MFD.

Millburn, NJ - Millburn emergency responders rescued a male victim that fell into a water holding tank hole in front of a Berkeley Road home in Short Hills on Sunday.

According to a Millburn Fire Department incident report, firefighters arrived at the home around 6 p.m. to find a resident trapped in a 10 by 12 foot well dug into the ground.

Police and EMS were already on the scene and in the hole with the victim, who fell about six feet into the hole, the report states.

Firefighters used two generators to light up the scene, then helped EMS personnel to package the victim with a long board and stokes. Emergency responders then placed two ground ladders next to each other and lifted the victim and stokes out head-first, the report states.

No word was immediately available about the condition of the victim.
