In Millburn: 4 Cars Burglarized / Alcohol In Pants / $3,920 Shoplifting / Stolen Sunglasses / DUI
Police Blotter: Aug. 11 to 18

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected incidents that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
On August 11, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Zonn responded to Saks Fifth Ave at The Mall at Short Hills on a report of a theft. Saks Fifth Ave personnel had three individuals detained for shoplifting $3,920 worth of merchandise. The investigation led to the arrest of 29 year old Daniel lonita out of Brooklyn, 37 year old Felicia Ciuciu out of Houston, Texas, and 25 year old Claudia Hornea out of Houston, Texas. All three individuals were charged with shoplifting and conspiracy and released pending a court date.
On August 14, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Pinero stopped a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta at the mall when the registration and driving privileges of the owner were found to be suspended. The owner, 24 year old Courtney Robinson out of Newark, was found to have an active criminal warrant out of Chester Bow, and a traffic warrant out of Cedar Grove. Robinson was placed under arrest and issued summonses for driving while suspended and driving with a suspended registration. Robinson was turned over to Chester Police Department.

On August 14, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Delgado responded to Solstice at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Solstice personnel report a male and female selected and concealed five pairs of sunglasses valued at $1,975 and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On August 15, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Delgado responded to Kings on a theft report. Kings personnel report they stopped an individual who was in the process of concealing two bottles of alcohol inside his pants. The alcohol was recovered and the individual was escorted out of the store. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 16, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Delgado made a motor vehicle stop on Ridgewood Rd/Ivy Terr after observing several motor vehicle violations. The stop led to the arrest of 53 year old Joseph Defilippo out of Millburn for driving under the influence and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Defilippo was released pending a court date.
On August 17, 2015, Millburn Police Officers responded to several reports of burglaries to vehicles which occurred between August 16th and 17th. The vehicles were located on Old Hollow Rd, Great Hills Rd, and Hobart Ave. A total of four vehicles were entered (2013 Audi A6, 2014 Jeep Cherokee, 2008 Lexus sedan, 2014 Acura MDX) with the victims reporting loose change, sunglasses, and an owner’s manual missing. No damage was reported to any of the vehicles which were reportedly unlocked in the residents’ driveways. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Detective Bureau.
On August 18, 2015, Sgt Delrusso stopped a 2007 Ford Escape on Crest Drive for an ordinance violation (being in a county park after 10 p.m.) The passenger of the vehicle, 19 year old Ebenezer Nwoko out of Newark, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Nwoko was released pending a court date.
