Millburn Barbershop Helps Autistic Men Spruce Up For Job Searches

MILLBURN, NJ — Sometimes a close shave is a good thing.

The Presidents Club Barber Shop in Millburn partnered with Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest to host a group of autistic men on Tuesday for shave lessons and grooming tips to help prepare them for their job journeys. The participants each received a complimentary haircut and straight razor shave with a hot towel. (See photos above)

The locally owned barbershop, Millburn’s “first full-service barber spa for men,” recently announced that the 300th member to sign up for its monthly service packages will get a free makeover. According to the shop:

“[Our] 300th member will enjoy a day of pampering from the shop’s suite of luxury services, compliments of business owners Katie LaVecchia and Laura Aguilar, including a professional haircut, relaxing shampoo, hand massage, and straight razor shave treatment, as well as a men’s manicure, pedicure, and spa facial – valued at $240.”

The locally owned business aims to combine the classic barber shop experience with the services of a spa. Membership is $38 per month and includes one haircut, priority appointments, discounted products, a free spa services loyalty program, Wi-Fi and access to member-only events.
