Millburn Complete Streets Plan Rolls Along: Public Forums Scheduled

The redesign of the downtown area will mean safer pedestrian conditions, improved traffic flow and more "vibrancy," Millburn officials say.

Millburn, NJ – The streets of downtown Millburn are closing in on “complete.”

In the works since 2014, Millburn’s Compete Streets initiative will take its next turn on Tuesday, when engineering firm Arterial, LLC presents its conceptual design for the upcoming revamp of the downtown area’s streets at the Township Committee Meeting.

When complete, the redesign of the downtown area will mean safer pedestrian conditions, improved traffic flow in congested areas, calmer traffic at other areas and improved “efficiency, functionality and vibrancy in downtown Millburn,” township officials state on the municipal website.

Construction on the first phase of Complete Streets improvements will take place around July of 2016, according to township officials.

In addition to the Feb. 2 presentation, there are two other scheduled forums to familiarize residents with the initiative.
