Millburn DPW Truck Overturns, Two Workers Injured
Police are conducting investigation of crash at Great Hills Road and Farbrook Drive.

A Millburn Department of Public Works dump truck overturned on Thursday, requiring an extraction effort from the Millburn Fire Department and sending two township workers to the hospital.
According to a spokesman at the Morristown Medical Center, one of the injured men, Nate James, was in “good” condition on Friday afternoon. The other injured worker, Louis Magnifico, is in “fair” condition.
The spokesman declined to elaborate on the nature of the injuries to Patch, as per hospital policy.

Millburn Fire Department Batallion Chief Ed Wade told Patch that the accident took place near Great Hills Road and Farbrook Drive, while the workers were out performing pothole repairs around 2:30 p.m.
The truck, which was carrying a load of asphalt in back, overturned and crashed due to an unknown cause, said Wade.

When MFD responders arrived on the scene, they found the two workers trapped in the cab of the truck, which had rolled onto its driver’s side.
According to Wade, the men were both injured and in pain, but conscious during rescue efforts.
Wade told Patch that there were no other vehicles at the scene of the accident.
After the MFD extracted the two men using rescue equipment, responders from the Millburn Rescue Squad transported them to Morristown Medical Center.
According to authorities, a police investigation of the accident is currently in progress.
Millburn police, DPW and rescue squad workers did not respond to a request for comment as of Friday afternoon.
