In Millburn: Flaming Jaguar XJ6, Counterfeit Money For Ice Cream, Distracted Pedestrian, Mall Shopliftings
Police Blotter: July 28 to 31

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are taken directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected incidents which may not include the full scope of police activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all persons should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
On July 28, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Nacim stopped a pedestrian at the intersection of Millburn Ave and Baltusrol Way after the pedestrian almost walked into the patrol car. The individual, Barry Walker, 57, of Newark, was found to have active criminal warrants out of Newark and the Warren County Prosecutors Office. Walker was placed under arrest and turned over to the Newark Police Department.

On July 28, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Pinero responded to Sunglass Hut at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Sunglass Hut personnel reported that a male and a female selected and concealed three pairs of sunglasses valued at $900 and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On July 29, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Lanni responded to the intersection of Millburn Ave. and Vauxhall Rd. on a motor vehicle fire. The driver reported that his 1990 Jaguar XJ6 started to smoke while he was driving so he pulled his vehicle over and exited. The vehicle became engulfed in flames and was extinguished by the Union Fire Department.

On July 29, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Manuyag responded to Michael Kars at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. A Michael Kors employee reports a female took her iphone and case valued at $650 from the back of the store and fled. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On July 30, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Manuyag responded to Hickory Rd. on a report of a parked suspicious vehicle with heavy front end damage. The investigation led to the arrest of 20-year-old Gary Precilla out of Elizabeth on an outstanding Cranford traffic warrant. Precilla was released with a new court date.
On July 31, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Czupak responded to Haggen Dazs on a report of counterfeit money being presented for a purchase. Haggen Dazs personnel reported that a male produced a counterfeit $100 bill for payment on July 30 for a $10.55 purchase. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
