Millburn Girls Rec Basketball Wraps Up Season
Girls in fourth through eighth grade finish winter season with foul-shooting contest.
It was a successful season for the Millburn girls basketball recreation program. The winter season just wrapped up and the girls finished up with foul-shooting contest that garnered a trophy for each winner.
In the fourth-grade, the Comets beat the Blizzard 14-8 in a close game. Andie Mandel of the Comets won the foul shooting contest in sudden death with five shots made.

In the fifth and sixth grades, the Sooners crept by the Spartans 14-13. Brooke Hoffman of the Spartans won the foul shooting contest in sudden death with five made shots.
The fifth-grade team consists of Coach Patrick Freeman, Isabella Waung, Xanthe Winstanley, Niamh Freeman, Orli Forster and Coach Brian Zirlin. Pictured in the first row is Casey Schwartz, Sydney Zirlin and Kathleen Cioffi.

For the seventh and eighth-grade girls, the Lazers upset the first seeded Sparks 23-17 in a heated game. Hazel Solender of the Silver Stars won the foul shooting contest with seven made baskets.
