The Millburn High Girls Volleyball squad took to their home court Monday afternoon against Irvington, looking to extend their two match winning streak.
Early in the first set, the Millers jumped out to an 5-2 lead, but it was short-lived as the visitors tied the match at 7 and again at 10 all. Millburn took over the set from that point, on the strength of a kill and service ace from Senior Captain Nicole Weissman and continued stellar play from Freshman Lily Jacobs whose kill gave the Millers a 17-14 lead.
Jacobs followed that up with a service ace to up the lead to four points. The home team was able to reach set point at 24-18 with Eliana Sirkin recording two aces. Senior Captain Kerry Justich then closed out the set with a put away block to give Millburn the one set advantage.

In the second set, the Millers showed improved play and carried the momentum to forge an early 9-3 lead with Jacobs' strong serves again proving the difference. Millburn never relinquished the lead and closed out the match 25-13 to improve their season record to 8-5.
The Lady Millers return to the court on Wednesday when they travel to Belleville.
