Millburn High School Robotics Team Captures N.J. Championship

Robots are rising in Millburn, and the town has its resilient, resourceful Vex Robotics Champions to thank.

MILLBURN, NJ — Robots are rising in Millburn, and the town has its resilient, resourceful Vex Robotics Champions to thank.

The Millburn High School Robotics Team – which only celebrated its birth two years ago – recently captured the New Jersey State Vex Robotics Championship title, making its way to the World Championship match and fighting their way to the quarterfinals in their division.

Their win is all the more impressive considering that their prized robot was stolen during the middle of a competition in Louisville, Kentucky in April.

During a ceremony on June 21, the Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders honored the Millburn High School Robotics Team for its outstanding season, which included wins at five out of seven competitions they attended before this year’s state championship.

The Millburn High School Robotics Team is comprised of the following: Captain Anhad Bir Singh, Captain Matthew Weintraub, Captain Filip Cakulev, Justin Lin, Brahmteg Minhas, Spencer Estes and Harry Harpel.

The team was coached by David Farrell and Cloe Kawecki and also received administrative support from Superintendent Christine Burton, Principal William Miron, Vice Principals Donna Gallo and Robert Keenan and Athletic Director Francesco Bifulco.
