Police Blotter: Sept. 14 to 21

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected incidents that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
On September 16, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Beyer responded to a Sheridan Drive residence on a report of a burglary to auto. The Sheridan Drive resident reports between September 15 and 16, her unlocked 2014 Mercedes Benz was entered. The resident reports her pocketbook was taken from the vehicle. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On September 16, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Tavares responded to Kings on a theft report. Kings personnel report two females and one male ran out of the store with a shopping cart full of items without making payment. The subjects possibly entered a blue Ford truck. The value of the items was not known. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On September 17, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Beyer responded to the Short Hills Train Station on a report of a theft of a bicycle. The resident reports chaining his Trek mountain bicycle, valued at $150, to a bike rack near the train station on September 16, and responding back on September 17 to find his bicycle missing. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On September 18, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Hay responded to a Myrtle Ave. residence on a report of a burglary to a residence. The victim reports between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., unknown actor/s entered the residence through an unlocked door and stole jewelry, a laptop, and a camera. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On September 18, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Tavares stopped a 2012 Volkswagen on Rt 124 West and Farley Place after the driver made an illegal left turn from Baltusrol Rd. The investigation led to the arrest of 35 year old Louis Herrera out of Elizabeth for driving under the influence. Herrera was issued summonses for driving under the influence, driving an unregistered vehicle, and making an improper left turn before being released.
On September 19, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Zonn responded to Macys on a report of two shoplifters being detained. Macy’s personnel reported 39 year old Fabian Sierrahenao and 30 year old Cesar Bautista, both from Maspeth, Queens, concealed 13 articles of clothing valued at $928 and left the store without making payment. Both individuals were charged with shoplifting and conspiracy and released pending a court date.
On September 20, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Laverty responded to a Ferncliff Terrace residence on a report of a stolen bicycle. The resident reports chaining his $400 KHS Alite bicycle to the fence between the Millburn High School and the Enclave on September 19. The resident reports returning on September 2oth and finding his bicycle missing. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On September 20, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Pinero stopped a 2008 Honda Accord after discovering the owner of the vehicle had a suspended license. The investigation led to the arrest of 21 year old David Spates out of Union for an active warrant out of Union for possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Spates was turned over to the Union Police Department.
On September 21, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Lipke responded to a Main St apartment on a report of a burglary that occurred between September 16 to 21. The resident reports entry was gained through an unsecured window, and the proceeds include jewelry and a laptop. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On September 21, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Kaiser responded to Polo at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Polo personnel report a male dressed in all black concealed a $498 sweater in a bag and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On September 21, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Kaiser responded to Neiman Marcus at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. A mail patron reports putting her Nordstrom bag down in the women’s shoe department, and returning a short time later to find it missing. The bag contained two pairs of jeans valued at $228. A review of the CCTV shows three females in the area, and one of them picking up the Nordstrom bag before leaving the store. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
