In Millburn: Home Burglary on Silver Spring Road / $7,150 Bloomingdale Theft / Mall Shopliftings

Police Blotter: Sept. 22 to 28

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected incidents that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On September 22, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Silance responded to Salvatore Ferragamo at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Salvatore Ferragamo personnel reported a female and male, both in their 20’s, entered the store and the female proceeded to ask to try on a pair of boots. The salesman responded to the stockroom and upon returning noticed both actors had left. A review of the CCTV showed the actors concealing four handbags and two belts, valued at $7,150, in a Bloomingdales bag and running out of the store. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On September 22, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Zonn responded to Saks Fifth Ave at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Saks Fifth Ave personnel reported that employee Kadian Morgan, 23 years old, of East Orange, concealed two articles of clothing valued at $190 under her dress and left the store without making payment. Morgan was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting. She was released pending a court date.

On September 25, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Manuyag responded to Macy’s at The Mall at Short Hills on a report of a shoplifter in custody. Macy’s personnel reported that 29 year old Janeal Ferguson, of Union, concealed two handbags and carried out another handbag, valued at $564, without making payment. Ferguson was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting and possession of burglary tools. She was turned over to Woodbridge Police Department on an active shoplifting warrant.

On September 25, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Delgado responded to Gucci at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Gucci personnel report a male wearing jeans and a yellow shirt took a pair of sunglasses valued at $325 and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On September 26, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Smeraldo responded to a Silver Spring Road residence on a report of a burglary. The resident reports unknown actor/s entered her house from an unlocked door during the day and stole jewelry and electronic devices. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On September 27, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Pinero responded to Saks Fifth Ave at The Mall at Short Hills on a report ofa shoplifter in custody. Saks personnel reported that 56 year old Derick Rollins out of East Orange concealed several men’s fragrances valued at $845 and left the store without making payment. Rollins was charged with shoplifting and turned over to Livingston Police Department on an active shoplifting warrant.

On September 28, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Hunt noticed a 2003 VW Jetta stopped on Short Hills Ave near St Rose of Lima Church at 12:49 am. Officer Hunt ran the registration which showed an active traffic warrant out of Brick Township for the owner, 28 year old Francess Timmer out of Maplewood. Timmer was placed under arrest on the active warrant, and was released pending a new court date.

On September 28, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Lipke responded to Stuart Weitzman at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Stuart Weitzman personnel reported that two females removed a $825 handbag from the store on September 27 without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
