In Millburn: Jeep Burglary / Package Theft / Mall Shoplifting / Bicycle Theft

Police Blotter: Sept. 10 to 14

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected incidents that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On September 10, 2015, Stacie Dennis, 37, of Dover, turned herself in on a Millburn warrant for shoplifting. Dennis was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On September 10, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Marone responded to Meeker Place on a report from a resident of an attempted theft. The resident reports a male riding a bicycle stopped at her neighbors’ house and removed three UPS boxes from the front porch. The resident states she approached the man and inquired about his taking the packages. The man stated he was picking the packages up for a friend. The resident told the individual her neighbors were home, at which point he handed over the packages and left on his bicycle. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On September 11, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Kaiser responded to a Maple Avenue residence on a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The resident reports looking outside and noticing his headlights of his 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee on in his driveway, and states two black males were in his vehicle. The resident reports running outside toward the individuals who fled in a silver BMW. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On September 13, 2015, a Rector St resident responded to Millburn headquarters to report the theft of a bicycle. The resident reports a white Haro DLX bicycle valued at $300 was taken from his backyard sometime overnight. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On September 14, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Pinero responded to Macys at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Macys personnel reported that Neelega Perry, 23, of Hillsborough, concealed several articles of clothing in her backpack, valued at $376, and left the store without making payment. Perry was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting and possession of burglary tools. Perry was turned over to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department on their warrant.
