MILLBURN, NJ — A Millburn homeowner returned home earlier this month to discover that his house was burglarized and the alleged culprit was still inside, police say.

According to the Millburn Police Department, a Jefferson Avenue resident returned home on Jan. 18 to find that his house had been burglarized. That’s when he discovered the alleged intruder and alerted police, who arrived on the scene shortly afterwards.

A Summit police officer located and detained a suspect in the case – Hasheem Sanders, 37, of East Orange – on Main Street a short time after the alleged burglary, Millburn authorities said.
