Millburn May Get 2 New Athletic Fields, Talks With Orange To Begin
If negotiations with the township of Orange go well, Millburn may end up with two new athletic playing fields.

MILLBURN, NJ — If negotiations with the township of Orange go well, Millburn may end up with two new athletic playing fields, town administrators say.
During last week’s Millburn Township Council meeting, Deputy Mayor Ian Mount announced that the municipality will try to negotiate with the City of Orange to add two new playing fields in an attempt to feed the town’s growing youth sports programs.
Plans include developing a seven-acre site on Passaic Avenue near the intersection with Parsonage Hill Road that lies within the township but is owned by the City of Orange, NorthJersey.com reported.

The proposed project could accommodate two full-size athletic fields to be used for a variety of sports, Millburn town officials stated.
During the meeting, the Millburn Township Committee approved a resolution to negotiate with Orange in an attempt to draft a lease agreement, as well as another resolution to hire a local engineering firm to examine the site, prepare environmental impact reports, draw up preliminary plans for the facility and generate cost estimates.
