“The Empty Bowls project is an international effort to help raise both money and awareness in preventing hunger,” school officials stated. “The basic idea for Empty Bowls is simple. Students create ceramic bowls, then serve a modest meal of soup and bread. Guests choose a bowl to use that day and keep it as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in the world.”
