Millburn Officers Escort Sandy Hook Bike Team To Trenton

Police motor officers from Madison, Millburn and West Orange escorted the Sandy Hook Team 26 to Trenton.

MILLBURN, NJ - Police motor officers from Madison, Millburn and West Orange escorted the Sandy Hook Team 26 to Trenton as part of their ride to Pittsburgh.

The officers took the team on their Morristown to Trenton leg of their trip on April 27. The first leg of the trip was from Newton, Conn., to Morristown.

According to their website, Team 26 has a message of peace, hope, and love and they ride in honor of those lost to gun violence at the Sandy Hook School. The journey goes over 600 miles and crosses six states, ending near the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pa.

"To reduce gun violence we must all come together as one nation to stomp out hate. This year we are focusing on how faith communities are a significant resource for conversation and transformation - especially as sources of hope and peace," organizers said.

Team 26 started Friday, April 26 and rode first Baltimore, Md., stopping along the way in Peekskill, NY, Morristown and Trenton, Philadelphia, Pa. and Newark, Del. Then, for the first time, they went west through Gettysburg and Chambersburg Pennsylvania and by the Flight 93 National Memorial before ending near the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh on Thursday, May 2.
