Millburn Parents Invited To Online Forum About Coronavirus Grief

The webinar takes place virtually on Wednesday. Among topics covered will be how to talk to teens.

MILLBURN, NJ — Millburn Superintendent of Schools Dr. Christine Burton announced Friday that the first in a series of parent wellness events will take place Wednesday. The virtual event is entitled "Parent Wellness Events: Grief and Loss During Covid-19."

Of the webinar, she said, "This is the start to a year in which we will be providing a variety of programming to support the health and wellness of our students and families."

The webinar will be presented by Lisa Athan, executive director of Grief Speaks, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Athan will present on losses and transitions as it pertains to the covid-19 pandemic.

During the event, participants will gain an understanding of the grief warning signs in youth, how to effectively communicate with one's teens, and learn about healthy coping tools and strategies to support one's teens.
