Millburn Police Blotter: March 16 to 21

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
On March 16, Millburn Police Officer Poyner responded to Salvatore Ferragamo at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Salvatore Ferragamo personnel report noticing a missing coat valued at $2,550 on March 11. A check of the store video showed an actor roll up the coat and walk out of the store without making payment. The actor was described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches, approximately 18 to 20 years of age, wearing a black cap. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On March 18, Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to the Apple store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Apple personnel reported that a 40 year old from Elizabeth concealed a pair of headphones valued at $199 in a bag and left the store without making payment. He was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting. He was released with a court date.

On March 19, Millburn Police Officer Tavares responded to the mall on a theft report. The mall employee states she parked her 2009 Volvo 540 at 1 pm and returned at 9 pm, finding the rear temporary license plate was stolen. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On March 21, Millbum Police Officer Kaiser responded to a Fairfield Drive residence on a burglary to auto report. The Fairfield Drive resident states sometime overnight an unknown actor/s entered his 2013 BMW 320 and removed his garage door opener. The resident reports finding the garage door open, however nothing appeared to be missing. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
