Millburn Police Blotter: March 23 to 28

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On March 23, 2016, the Irvington Police Department contacted Millburn Dispatch after locating a 2014 BMW 328 on Rich St. Millburn Police Officer Nacim responded to the residence on Hobart Ave to notify the owner. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 23, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Hunt responded to a Forest Drive residence on a report of a motor vehicle theft. The resident reports sometime overnight, unknown actors took her 2012 Mercedes Benz E35 from the driveway. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 23, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Pinero responded to Wells Lane on a report of a solicitor. Officer Pinero located 43 year old Shawn Gatling out of Ohio who was found to have warrants out of Princeton, Mt Laurel, Spring Lake, Glen Rock, and Oradell. Gatling was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. Gatling was given new court dates and released with a summons.

On March 23, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Shanahan responded to an Old Short Hills Rd residence on a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle that occurred overnight. The resident reports unknown actor's entered her 2010 Audi Q5 in the driveway going through the glove compartment and center console. Nothing appeared to be missing. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 23, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Wichelns responded to a Jefferson Ave residence on a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle that occurred overnight. The resident reports unknown actor's entered his 2014 Porsche Cayenne in the driveway going through the glove compartment and center console. Nothing appeared to be missing. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 24, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Wichelns responded to Neiman Marcus at The Mall at Short Hills on a credit card fraud report. Neiman Marcus personnel report being notified from a victim of purchases made at the store on March 15 and 20 totaling $3,168 that he didn't make. The incidents are under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 26, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Tavares responded to Solstice at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Solstice personnel report 36 year old Altajuan Tinsley out of Newark allegedly selected a pair of sunglasses valued at $400 and walked out of the store without making payment. Tinsley was placed under arrest. A search of Tinsley uncovered nine small bags of marijuana, and 52 pills (oxycodone,endocet) separately packaged. Keeley Tinsley, age 45 out of Newark, was with Tinsley and found to be a wanted person out of Newark for aggravated assault. Altajuan Tinsley was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and shoplifting. Keeley Tinsley was turned over to Newark PD on the outstanding warrant.

On March 28, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Beyer responded to headquarters on a burglary to a motor vehicle report. The Whitney Road resident reports between March 24 and 26, unknown actor/s entered her 2016 Porsche in the driveway removing an Apple i-Pod mini, loose change and a radar detector. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
