Millburn Police Blotter: April 12 to 15

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On April 12, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Marone responded to headquarters on a burglary to auto report. The Woodfield road resident reports between April 4 and 5, an unknown actor/s entered his 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2002 Acura TL parked in his driveway taking loose change. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 12, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Aliotta responded to Neiman Marcus at The Mall at Short Hills on a forgery report. Neiman Marcus personnel report a male with facial hair and wearing a Jordan-hooded jacket and diamond studded earrings attempted to pass three counterfeit $100 bills for payment. The transaction was denied. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 14, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Pinero responded to Macy’s on a theft report. Macy’s personnel reported that a 20 year old New Providence man concealed two articles valued at $291 in a bag and left the store without making payment. He was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting. He was released with a court date.

On April 14, 2016, Officer Laverty responded to the parking deck at Lot 2 on a criminal mischief report. The victim reports between 12:45 and 2:30 pm, an unknown actor keyed her parked 2004 Saab 9-5. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 14, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Shanahan stopped a 2007 Toyota Corolla at the mall after a license plate reader indicated the owner’s driver’s license was suspended. The investigation led to the arrest of 27-year-old Erika Johnson out of West Orange for outstanding traffic warrants out of Livingston, West Orange, Maplewood and Newark. Johnson was issued a summons for driving with a suspended license and turned over to the Livingston Police Department.

On April 15, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Pinero responded to a Ridgewood Road residence on a burglary. A realtor showing the house reports between April 13 and April 15, an unknown actor/s kicked in the front door. Nothing appears to be missing. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
