Millburn Police Blotter: April 26 to May 2

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
On April 26, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Lanni responded to the Apple store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Apple personnel reported that a 22-year-old female from Newark took two pairs of Beats headphones valued at $759 from a display and left the store without making payment. She was charged with shoplifting and released with a court date.
On April 29, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Crawn stopped a 2005 Mercury Sable for a broken taillight. The driver, a 29-year-old male from Newark, was found to have an active warrant from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On May 2, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Kaiser responded to headquarters on a burglary to auto report. The victim reports parking his 2014 Volkswagen Jetta at Linden/Wyoming on April 30, 2016 in the morning, and returning to find his wallet and cell phone missing from the vehicle. A passerby found his wallet and gave it back to the owner. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On May 2, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Catinella responded to Kings on a theft report. The patron reports the theft of her wallet from her pocketbook while she was shopping in the store. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 2, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Shanahan responded to Saks Fifth Ave on a theft report. Saks Fifth Ave personnel report the theft of a handbag valued at $2,095 from a display. The actor is described as a male with white hair about 70 years of age. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
