Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On May 24, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Wichelns responded to Saks Fifth Ave on a fraud report. Saks personnel report a female used a fraudulent credit card to purchase a Gucci wallet valued at $384. The actor fled in a silver colored vehicle. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 25, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Shanahan responded to Apple at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Apple personnel report a 53 year old out of Jersey City concealed 9 smart battery cases valued at $891 and left the store without making payment. He was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting before being released with a court date.

On May 26, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Shanahan responded to Prada at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft that occurred on May 25, 2016. Prada personnel report a male wearing dark pants, black jacket, and carrying a shopping bag concealed 3 pairs of sunglasses valued at $975 and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 27, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Shanahan responded to a Hobart Ave residence on a criminal mischief report. The homeowner reports sometime overnight unknown actor's broke 3 lawn lights and threw lawn furniture into his pool. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 27, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Catinella responded to Anthropologie at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Anthropologie personnel report between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm unknown actor/s took 5 blouses valued at $590 from a display. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 27, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Pinero responded to Miu Miu at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Miu Miu personnel report a male approximately 5 feet 6 inches wearing a blue polo shirt and white pants concealed 2 Napa Crystal bags (valued at $3,320) in a shopping bag and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 27, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Nacim stopped a 2012 Honda Accord on JFK Pkwy near the Hilton for disregarding a traffic control device. The investigation led to the arrest of a 29 year old out of Jersey City for the possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana). He was charged with disregarding a traffic control device, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and released with a court date.

On May 29, 2016, Miliburn Police Officer Aliotta was flagged down by a Verizon employee who reported a fraud. The Verizon employee reports a woman provided a counterfeit Florida drivers license as identification to purchase an iPhone and iPad. Tawjuana Lopez, age 40 out of Brooklyn, was placed under arrest and charged with forgery and unsworn falsification. Mrs. Lopez was released with a court date.

On May 30, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Cassels responded to St. Stephen’s rectory on a burglary report. The rector reports between 6:30 and 7:30 pm unknown actor/s entered the rectory and stole a backpack containing electronic equipment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On May 31, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Rebelo responded to a Taylor Rd. residence on a motor vehicle theft report. The victim reports sometime overnight unknown actor/s stole her 2015 Audi from her driveway. The victim also reports another Audi parked in the driveway was entered, however nothing appears to be missing. The incidents are under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
