Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
On February 23, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Cassels responded to a Wyoming Avenue residence on a theft report. The resident reports between February 20 and 23, an unknown actor/s removed an aluminum ladder from the rear yard. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On February 24, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Derosa was patrolling the mall when he found a bag of Bloomingdale’s merchandise valued at $1,996 in the teal parking deck with security sensors still attached. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On February 27, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Baerga responded to Starbucks at 343 Millburn Avenue on a forgery report. Starbucks personnel reported that a black male, 5’9”, wearing grey sweatpants and a Ferrari type black, red, and white sweat shirt passed four counterfeit $20 bills for various items. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On February 28, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Manuyag responded to the Millburn Deli on a forgery report. Millburn Deli personnel reported that a black male wearing a black and blue jacket and black knit cap passed a counterfeit $20 bill on February 27. A second black male, described as wearing a Ferrari jacket and grey pants, attempted to pass a counterfeit $20 bill, however this transaction was denied. The incidents are under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
On February 28, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Zonn responded to Bloomingdale’s at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Bloomingdales personnel reported that a 48 year old from Irvington concealed a pair of Beats headphones valued at $299 in a bag and left the store without making payment. He was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting and was released with a court date.
On February 29, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Kaiser responded to headquarters on a theft report. A Springfield resident reports that an unknown actor/s stole his Schwinn bicycle, lock, and helmet valued at $240 from a rack near the parking garage on Essex Street between 6:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
