Millburn Police Blotter: Jan. 9 to 11

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
On January 9, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Catinella responded to headquarters to take a criminal mischief report. The manager of H&R Block reports between January 7 and January 8, unknown actor/s broke a lock box off the rear door of the business. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 10, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Zonn responded to Saks Fifth Ave at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Saks Fifth Ave personnel report an individual concealed a $495 jacket under his coat and left the store without making payment. The actor fled toward Canoe Brook Road. Shortly after, a Summit Police Officer noticed a Dodge Caravan on the shoulder of Rt. 24 with its hazards on, and a male running to the vehicle and getting in. The vehicle was stopped and the investigation led to the arrest of Jaba Kebadze, age 37, out of Brooklyn, and Baqar Tsiklauri, age 25, out of Brooklyn, for shoplifting and conspiracy. Both individuals were charged and released with a court date.
On January 11, 2016, Millburn Police Officers Wichelns and Manuyag responded to Florham Park Police Department on a warrant arrest. A 34-year-old man out of Irvington was arrested for an outstanding Millburn traffic warrant and transported to headquarters. He posted bail and was released with a court date.

On January 11, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Pinero responded to Solstice at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Solstice personnel report a 44-year-old female selected a pair of sunglasses valued at $395 and left the store without making payment. Millburn Police Officer Shanahan located the female and placed her under arrest for shoplifting. The suspect was found to have warrants out of Newark and Elizabeth. Both agencies provided new court dates for the female, who was released.
On January 11, 2016, Millburn Police Officers Wichelns and Manuyag placed 46-year-old Gerald Smith out of Vauxhall under arrest for two criminal Millburn warrants. Smith was lodged in the Essex County Correctional Facility.
