Millburn Police Blotter: Feb. 1 to 5

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
On February 1, 2016, Millburn Police Sergeant Delrusso stopped a 2014 Mercedes Benz on Highland and Stewart after the vehicle swerved onto the wrong side of the roadway. The investigation led to the arrest of a 28 year old out of Short Hills for driving under the influence and reckless driving. He was released with a court date.

On February 2, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Wichelns responded to Saks Fifth Ave at The Mall at Short Hills on a fraud report. Saks Fifth Ave personnel report 34 year old Fanny Paulino out of the Bronx attempted to make a fraudulent purchase with a credit card which was declined. She had allegedly attempted to make a purchase on January 28 with two separate credit cards which were also declined. Paulino was located and the investigation led to her arrest for theft by deception and credit card theft. Paulino was found to have additional merchandise allegedly fraudulently purchased from Nordstroms and Fendi with a total value of $3,030. Paulino was released with a court date.
On February 3, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Pinero responded to Gucci at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Gucci personnel report the theft of two black belts valued at $810 from a display that occurred on February 2. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective bureau.

On February 3, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Zonn responded to Hobart and Lakeview on a report of a 2012 Hyundai parked facing the wrong way on Hobart Ave. The investigation led to the arrest of a 36 year old out of Belle Mead for driving under the influence. He was issued a summons for driving under the influence and released pending a court date.
On February 5, 2016, Millburn Police Lieutenant Guensch observed a 2013 Nissan with an expired registration parked in a fire lane at The Mall at Short Hills. A motor vehicle stop was conducted and the investigation led to the arrest of a 28 year old out of North Plainfield for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana). He was issued a summons and released with a court date.
