Millburn Police Blotter: Jan. 27 to 30

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On January 27, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Goldfarb responded to a Ridgewood Rd residence on a report of a stolen vehicle. The resident reports parking his 2014 Nissan Maxima in his driveway on January 26 at 10 pm and finding it missing on January 27 at 7 am. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 27, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Zonn responded to a Locust Ave residence on a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The resident reports sometime overnight unknown actors entered her Chevy Traverse and emptied the glove compartments contents onto the seat. Nothing appeared to be missing. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 29, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Nacim responded to Lush Cosmetics at The Mall at Short Hills on a forgery report. Lush personnel reported that an 18 year old female out of the Bronx passed two counterfeit one hundred dollar bills for a $151 purchase. The woman was stopped and found to have also passed two counterfeit one hundred dollar bills for a $111 purchase out of Aveda. She was placed under arrest and charged with forgery and giving false information, and released with a court date.

On January 30, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Nacim responded to Rt. 124/Cleveland Place on a report of a vehicle stopped in the roadway. The investigation led to the arrest of 21 year old Luis Matailo-Espejo out of Elizabeth for driving under the influence. Matailo-Espejo was also charged with obstructing traffic and being an unlicensed driver before being released with a court date.
