Millburn Police Blotter: Jan. 19 to 22

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On January 19, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Catinella responded to ShopRite on a theft report. ShopRite personnel reported that a 28 year old woman from Irvington concealed three cans of baby formula in her bag and was attempting to leave as Officer Catinella arrived. The woman was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting. She was found to have an active criminal warrant out of Newark, was given a new court date and released.

On January 20, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Catinella responded to Walgreens on a theft report. Walgreens personnel report a black male wearing a black puffy jacket concealed 4 packages of Vicks valued at $75.96 under his coat and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 20, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Wichelns responded to Swarovski at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report that occurred on January 18. Swarovski personnel reported the theft of 1 watch and 6 pairs of earrings valued at $899 from the store. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 21, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Lanni responded to Bose at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Bose personnel report the theft of a pearl soundlink mini valued at $199, and a carbon soundlink mini valued at $199. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 22, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Nakashian responded to Lackawanna Place/Essex Street on a theft report. The resident reports locking his green and white Novara bicycle to a rack outside of the parking deck on Essex and Lackawanna at 8:15 am on January 21 and returning at 1:40 am on January 22 to find it missing. The incident is under investigation by the Miliburn Police Detective Bureau.

On January 22, 2016, Miilburn Police Officer Marone responded to Macy’s at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Macy’s personnel reported that a 54 year old Irvington resident concealed 10 articles of clothing valued at $277 in a bag and left the store without making payment. He was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting before being released with a court date.
