Millburn Police Blotter: March 1 to 6

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Millburn police blotter, a listing of selected reports that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On March 1, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to Louis Vuitton at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Louis Vuitton personnel report on February 29, a black female wearing tan boots, green pants, dark colored jacket, floral scarf, and wig concealed two pairs of sunglasses valued at $1,320 in a shopping bag and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 2, 2016, Millburn Police Officer O'Neill responded to the Newark Police Department on a warrant arrest. Troy Johnson, age 47 out of Irvington, was placed under arrest on an outstanding Millburn criminal warrant. Johnson was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On March 3, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Smeraldo responded to the True Religion store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. True Religion personnel reported that a 27 year old woman out of Linden concealed two articles of clothing valued at $79 in a bag and left the store without making payment. Millburn Police Officer Lanni located the suspect and an investigation led to her arrest for shoplifting and receiving stolen property out of the Gap and Forever 21. She was charged with shoplifting and released with a court date.

On March 4, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to the Coach store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Coach personnel reported on February 29, a female wearing a tan sweater and dark denim pants carried a $795 purse out of the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 5, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Kaiser responded to the Lush Cosmetics store at The Mall at Short Hills on a forgery report. Lush personnel report an unknown actor passed a counterfeit $100 bill for payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On March 6, 2016, Millburn Police Officer Kaiser responded to Neiman Marcus on a theft report. Neiman Marcus personnel reported that a 34 year old out of Morristown concealed a $170 scarf in a bag and left the store without making payment. She was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting before being released with a court date.
