MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn Police Department is participating in a public safety program called Project Lifesaver, which combines public education and technology to help officials quickly locate persons who may present a safety risk if they wander off on their own.

Residents or caregivers interested in enrolling family members in the program can find more information in the Project Lifesaver Enrollment Package.

Persons such as those who have cognitive impairment due to dementia, autism, Down syndrome or any other related conditions may benefit from the program, police said. Clients who enroll in Project Lifesaver will receive a personalized wrist watch-sized radio transmitter that allows Township officials to rapidly locate them in the event of wandering.
