Millburn and Short Hills Memorial Day Parade 2016 Scheduled

Millburn, NJ - Millburn will hold its 2016 Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30.
According to a township news release, the Guy R. Bosworth American Legion Post 140 will begin Memorial Day ceremonies at St. Stephen’s Cemetery at 9:15 a.m. and St. Rose of Lima Cemetery at 9:45 a.m., including a reading honoring U.S. veterans of all wars.
The Memorial Day parade will start at 11 a.m. at the Short Hills train station. Marchers will proceed along Millburn Avenue to Taylor Park.

Ceremonies held in the park will include speeches from Post 140 offices, municipal officers and performances from the Essex County Emerald Pipe Band, the Metropolitan Festival Band and the Chatham Community Band.

"While marching is in progress various roads will be temporarily shut down. Beginning on Monday, May 30, Chatham Road will be closed from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. The parade route will be closed in sections as marchers pass and will be reopened once all marchers have moved to the next section. Temporary road closures include: Chatham Road, Short Hills Avenue, Millburn Avenue and Main Street."
