In Millburn: Stolen Red Bull, Suspicious Man Lays In Road, Bike Thefts, Mall Shopliftings

Police Blotter: July 22 to 27

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are taken directly from the Millburn police blotter, which may not include the full scope of police activity in the area. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On July 22, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Czupak responded to a Greenwood Rd residence on a theft report. The resident reports chaining his $335 Trek Mountain bicycle to a lamp post in the parking lot near the Millburn Train Station earlier in the morning. The resident reports when he returned for the bicycle later that night he found it missing. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On July 22, 2015, Millburn Police Officer Tavares responded to BCBG at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. BCBG personnel report a female selected two articles of clothing valued at $396, concealed them and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On July 25, 2015, a suspicious person was reported at the intersection of Millburn Ave/Ridgewood Rd. The subject, later identified as Deane Tracy, was located laying down with his feet in the roadway. Tracy was found to have an active arrest warrant outstanding out of Morris County. Tracy was placed under arrest for the warrant and turned over to the Morris County Sheriff’s Department.

On July 26, 2015, Walgreens had three or four cases of Red Bull shoplifted from the store. The subject was described as a male wearing a white tank top and red gym shorts. He was seen by employees picking up the cases and left the store without paying. No apprehension as of yet.

On July 26, 2015, a Southern Slope Drive resident reported a bicycle was taken from his garage. The theft occurred sometime between July 13 and July 25. The resident did not know the make, model or serial number.

On July 27, 2015, Kings Supermarket reported a theft that occurred on July 24, when a bald male wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt was allegedly observed via video selecting a bottle of Hennessey, valued at $40. The subject allegedly concealed the bottle of liquor and walked out of the store without paying for it.

On July 27, 2015, Club Monaco at The Mall at Short Hills reported a theft that occurred on July 23. According to police, a female 50 to 60 years-old, wearing a white top and blue skirt, opened up a display case and took a necklace valued at $375. She then placed the necklace in her purse and left the store.
