Millburn Student, Book Author Is Now Scholarship Semifinalist
Annika Sharma among the 1,896 students named 2019 Coca-Cola Scholar semifinalists.

MILLBURN, NJ - Millburn High School student Annika Sharma is a book author, board member of the American Red Cross Essex County Youth Council and semifinalist at the 2017 and 2019 Miss New Jersey Teen USA pageant. She now is the running for a $20,000 per year college scholarship.
Sharma and the other semifinalists were selected – based on their leadership, academics, and service – from among the more than 95,000 students who applied from across the nation. Thirty New Jersey students were named semifinalists.
In January, 250 of the semifinalists will be named regional finalists, and 150 of those will ultimately receive $20,000 per year college scholarships.

Sharma is the 2019 NJ Governor STEM Scholar, 2019 Wendy's Heisman School Winner and has conducted research in Nutritional Science at the New York University (NYU) for the past three years. She has presented papers in conferences and has published a book based on her research called "The Healthy Teen" which is available for download on Amazon Kindle.
Sharma is the founder of Girl Talk Millburn chapter and is a member of the Millburn High School girls cross-country team for three years. She is the co-founder of the annual Run for RAINN 5K raising thousands of dollars for the survivors of Sexual Assault through a national organization like RAINN (Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network).

Sharma volunteers at the Liberty Science Center as a Teen Docent and serves on the board of the American Red Cross Essex County Youth Council. She was also a semifinalist at the 2017 and 2019 Miss New Jersey Teen USA pageant.
