MILLBURN, NJ — Former Washington School ace reporter Sophia Hou of Millburn, now a student at the Middle School, has gone national. Over the summer, Hou participated in a rigorous application and selection process to become a reporter for Time for Kids Magazine. She was one of nine other applicants nationwide to be selected to serve as a reporter for the national magazine that finds its way into millions of classrooms across the country.
When he heard about the honor, Washington School Principal Peter Mercurio said, “We are so proud of Sophia. We are a Leader in Me school, dedicated to fostering and bringing out leadership qualities in all our students. Sophia certainly embodies our school mission.”
The faculty advisors for the Washington School newspaper, Katherine Briber and Sharon Jones, are also proud of Hou.
