Millburn Summer Swim Team Closes Out Its Season with Strong Performances at Divisionals and the Meet of Champions
Millburn Summer Swim Team 2016
The Millburn Summer Swim Team ended its season at Divisionals on Monday, July 25th and the Meet of Champions on Thursday, July 28th to close out the summer season with numerous strong performances. Divisionals is the first championship event of the season where Millburn swimmers compete once again with their Division 2 contenders from Berkeley Heights, Livingston, Madison and Verona. The Meet of Champions is a qualifying final championship event which includes competitors from all four Divisions, totaling 20 northern New Jersey teams.
29 Millburn swimmers placed top 6 at Divisionals. 1st place finishers were: Luke Chua, Emily Houng, Anshul Kamath, Livia Maguire, Teddy Maguire, Emily Segal, Zoe Segal and Katherine Slover. 2nd through 6th place finishers included: Aaryan Chopra, Andy Zhang, Annika Treue, Brian Zhang, Eleanor Wiggers, Millie Friederichsen, Megan Fehrenbach, Gia Sachan, Hunter Friederichsen, Christopher Houng, Jack Fehrenbach, Luke Nuttall, Mia Morreale, Owen Kane, Nick Slover, Russell Wiggers, Sandrine Jiang, Sarah Speckhart, Sebastian Tham, Spencer Jiang and Thomas Nuttall.
Due to their qualifying times, 18 Millburn swimmers continued on to the Meet of Champions, including two relays, the Boys and Girls 12 & Under 100 Medley Relays. The Millburn swimmers at Meet of Champions were: Aaryan Chopra, Luke Chua, Jack Fehrenbach, Megan Fehrenbach, Millie Friederichsen, Emily Houng, Anshul Kamath, Livia Maguire, Teddy Maguire, Mia Morreale, Luke Nuttall, Thomas Nuttall, Emily Segal, Zoe Segal, Katherine Slover, Nick Slover, Annika Treue and Eleanor Wiggers. The girls came out on top for Millburn with Zoe Segal placing 1st in the 50 Breaststroke and Emily Houng, Livia Maguire and Emily Segal finishing top 6 in their individual events.

The team had an outstanding summer as some swimmers had fun learning the sport while others enjoyed the opportunity to perfect their strokes and times in a supportive, team-oriented, competitive environment. Millburn finished the season with 5 wins and 3 losses all while moving up into the Division 2 ranking. Millburn also had a large turnout of swimmers at 80 team members in total. So keep an eye out for Millburn next summer as the team looks to come back stronger and better than ever. Go Blue and White!
