Millburn Summer Swim Team Loses to Madison, Rebounds Against Verona

The Millburn Summer Swim Team lost to Madison on Monday, July 11th by a score of 196 to 247. It was definitely the team's toughest meet of the season but two days later on Wednesday, July 13th the team redeemed itself with a great comeback win against Verona. Millburn won 258 to 182. The team is looking to continue its winning streak this week against Livingston and Berkeley Heights.

Assistant coach, Sarah Speckhart shared that "our team keeps improving every single meet. The thing that makes me most proud of our team is that for every meet and practice, they're always willing to do their best and work harder." Head coach, Jonas Singer also added after the Verona win that "I am proud of how much our swimmers are improving over the course of the season, their times have been dropping meet after meet. We are a stronger team now than we were when we started in June!" As the season is quickly coming to a close, the kids are also looking forward to Divisionals and the Meet of Champions. Millburn swimmer, Sandrine Jiang against Verona on July 13th - Sandrine placed 1st in the 8 & Under 25 Backstroke with a time of 25.90 seconds. Sandrine also placed 1st in the 25 Freestyle.

Millburn swimmer, Zoe Segal against Verona on July 13th - Zoe placed 1st place in the 12 & Under 50 Butterfly with a time of 32.47 seconds. Zoe also placed first in the 100 Individual Medley and 50 Backstroke.

Millburn swimmer, Spencer Jiang against Verona on July 13th - Spencer placed 1st in the 10 & Under 25 Butterfly with a time of 18.78 seconds. He also placed 1st in the 25 Breaststroke and the 100 Medley Relay.

Millburn swimmer, Evan Ng against Verona on July 13th - Evan swam the 13 & Over Individual Medley and finished in 1st place with a time of 1:00.35 minutes. Evan also finished 2nd in the 50 Butterfly.

Millburn swimmer, Nick Slover at Madison on July 11th - Nick finished in 3rd place in the Boys 12 & Under Breaststroke with a time of 51.69 seconds.

Millburn swimmer, Katherine Slover at Madison on July 11th - Katherine swam the 15 & Over 50 Backstroke and finished in 1st place with a time of 38.59 seconds. She also placed 1st in the 50 Breaststroke and 2nd in 50 Butterfly.

Millburn swimmer, Anshul Kamath at Madison on July 11th - Anshul swam the 14 & Under 50 Backstroke and finished in 1st place with a time of 34.59 seconds. Anshul also placed first in the 50 Freestyle and 50 Butterfly.
