In Millburn: Theft using a hammer, Shoplifting cologne and Water Main Break

Police Blotter: March 27 to 30

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are taken directly from the Millburn Police Blotter, which may not include the full scope of police activity in the area. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On 3/27, Officer Nacim responded to the area of Glenn Ave. and Sagamore Rd. on a water main break. A Large water main had ruptured in the street in front of 134 Glenn Ave and started flooding the area. The flooding affected several homes on Glenn Ave, the N.J. Transit train tracks and several businesses on Millburn Ave. Glenn Ave. had to be closed between Sagamore Rd. and Lackawanna Pl. Several agencies responded to the scene to assist in the recovery and clean up efforts. [See related Patch article]

On 3/29, Officer Zonn responded to Walgreens on a theft. The manager stated that a white male wearing a white hat, glasses, black sweat shirt with yellow letters spelling Army, and black pants entered the store. The male then picked up a hammer and went over to one of the registers. The Male then pryed open the register and took $108.00 and left the store. This incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On 3/30, Officer Zonn responded to True Religion at The Mall at Short Hills on a report of a theft. The manager stated that a black female hide a bottle of cologne valued at $79.00 and left the store without paying. This incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Department.
