Millburn's Deerfield School Celebrates Service

The Day of Service program saw students packing 275 toiletry kits for Bridges Outreach.

MILLBURN, NJ - Celebrating service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. saw Deerfield students packing 275 toiletry kits for Bridges Outreach.

Founded in 1988, Bridges reaches out to the homeless in New York City, Newark, Irvington, and Summit, New Jersey every week. Principal Kelly Salazar spoke to the students about Bridges, MLK, and what it means to help others. The Kindergarten and first grade students colored Paw Prints to add a personal touch to each bag. The second through fourth grade students assembled each kit. Supplies for the kits were donated by the Deerfield PTO.
