Millburn's National Night Out Celebration Set For Tuesday
The annual event fights crime through community engagement.

MILLBURN, NJ – The Millburn Police Department is fighting crime through community engagement by hosting the annual National Night Out Against Crime.
From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, neighbors throughout Millburn-Short Hills and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement at Taylor Park, located at 200 Main Street.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring place to live, officials said.

According to organizers, the event will feature good food and great music by local artists.

- heighten crime prevention awareness generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs
- strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
- send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back
This is a night for America to stand together and promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnership and citizen involvement in our fight for a safer nation. NNO invites neighborhoods nationwide to “give crime a going away party."
