So.i.Heard House of Music's summer programs are fun and exciting camps that are unparalleled by any other camp program for kids grades 4 to 12.
We offer a full summer season session, half season sessions, and drop-in week sessions which focus on learning Performance, Production and Songwriting.
Here is a camper's typical day:
9:00AM: Arrival/Meet in Group Room
Campers arrive at 9am and mingle for 15 minutes with other campers and faculty.
9:15AM-10:30AM: Opening Group Lesson/Guest Speaker
Campers gather in the studio for either a guest speaker, or the opening group lesson of the day. In this lesson campers will learn anything from music theory, to songwriting, to production, depending on the week.
10:30AM-12:00PM: Group Jam Session
Campers have the opportunity to try new instruments and "jam" with other campers. Our incredibly talented and multi-instrumental staff will guide them through different instrument techniques and styles. During the group jam session, campers are split up into two different age-based groups.
12:00PM-12:30PM: Lunch Break
12:30PM-2:30PM: Camper Lab Time
Campers work alone or in pairs in one of our state of the art lesson rooms to practice the techniques learned during the morning sessions and the previous days' afternoon lessons. So.i.Heard's expert staff will assist and guide campers during lab time.
2:30PM-4:30PM: Camper One-On-One/Closing Group Lesson
Campers will have their weekly private lesson in a subject or instrument of their choice. Other campers not engaged in a private lesson will participate in a second group lesson that focuses on music theory, songwriting, or production.
