MILLBURN, NJ — A natural gas leak has closed some roads from Springfield to Millburn Monday morning, Millburn officials said.

An initial message to residents at 8:50 a.m. said, "There is currently an active natural gas leak on Main St. in the area of Shoprite. The Fire Department is working on the necessary evacuations. PSE&G has been notified. Residents should avoid the area until further notice. Be aware that Main St. is closed between Bleeker St. and East Willow St."

A followup at 9:30 said more roads had been closed while the power utility works on the problem.

"A hard road closure has been put in place between Springfield Ave. in Springfield and Rector St. in Millburn," said a notice. "Residents should avoid the area until further notice."
