New Assistant Superintendent Hired In Millburn
Kate Diskin joins the district from the Middlesex School District.

MILLBURN, NJ - Monday's Millburn Board of Education meeting brought the hiring of Kathryn Diskin as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for the Millburn Schools.
Diskin will assume the role on July 1, succeeding Kyle Arlington who left Millburn to become Superintendent in Kenilworth.
“Ms. Diskin brings 28 years of experience to our district, from the classroom, to leading a building and at the central office,” said Dr. Christine Burton, Superintendent of Millburn Township Public Schools. “As Assistant Superintendent in Middlesex she has managed curriculum work, professional development, federal grants, community engagement and change management efforts. As a life-long learner, she is currently working on her doctorate, modeling her commitment to continuous learning. We are very pleased to have such a dedicated and experienced professional step into the role of Assistant Superintendent.”

Diskin is currently Assistant Superintendent in the Middlesex School district. Millburn is not new to Diskin as she was a teacher in the district from 1993-1997.In her career she also has been Technology Coordinator and Director of Curriculum & Instruction, and Principal, prior to taking on the role of Assistant Superintendent for the last four years in Middlesex.
Prior to becoming Assistant Superintendent in Middlesex in 2016, Diskin also served as Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Principal at Watchung Elementary School there. She was Assistant Principal in Montclair New Jersey, a 5th Grade teacher in Millburn and a Middle School teacher in Mountainside Public Schools.

Diskin expressed her enthusiasm at returning to the Millburn Public Schools.
“I look forward to working together to continue to enhance the curriculum and instruction work currently underway,” she said.
