Ode to Spring: Wherefore Art Thou?

Monday marked the first full day of spring, but it's hard to keep that in mind when you're brushing snow off the windshield.

Like a house guest that doesn't realize the party's over, winter has overstayed its welcome.

The trees are starting to bud, daffodils and croccuses are blooming. Yet Old Man Winter seems to be having a hard time saying goodbye.

The first day of spring was greeted with big, fat flakes of snow, then more today and according to the National Weather Service, we can expect more tonight and tomorrow.

The forecast for Millburn/Short Hills calls for rain this afternoon and evening with more rain, snow and sleet overnight.

Thursday calls for more of the same with a chance of rain, snow and sleet before 9 a.m., then more rain.

Already this season, according to the National Weather Service, we've had more than 50 inches of snow -- one of the 10 worst winters on record.
