PetSmart Opening Next Week
A soft opening is set for Monday, and the grand opening is March 20.
PetSmart is ready to open next week after months of preparing and reconstructing the building adjacent to Trader Joe's on Millburn Avenue.
The pet store is set for a soft opening on Monday, and a grand opening celebration will be held on Saturday, March 20, according to a PetSmart spokeswoman.
The Planning Board approved PetSmart in May along with Trader Joe's, which opened in early November. The PetSmart space will be 15,000 square feet. The two stores occupy where the former Whole Foods was at 187 Millburn Ave.

In November, there was a protest in front of the site of the store when members of Labors Local 1153, part of Labors Eastern Region, said there was no union labor on the project. The issue, however, was resolved quickly.
