Police Chase In Millburn Involved Stolen Car, 2 Apprehended: Authorities

Two suspects were taken into custody: a 34-year-old and a teen. The car was stolen out of Edgewater, police said.

MILLBURN, NJ — Police arrested a Union County resident after a police chase involving a stolen car took place in Millburn earlier this month, authorities say.

According to the Millburn Police Department, an officer tried to pull over a 2024 BMW X5 near Millburn Avenue and Lackawanna Place on Sept. 4 after a records check revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Edgewater on Aug. 26.

“The vehicle failed to stop, and [the officer] pursued it eastbound on Millburn Avenue. Due to safety concerns, the pursuit was subsequently terminated. Several minutes later, members of the New Jersey State Police Auto Theft Task Force located the vehicle in Irvington and successfully disabled it. Two suspects were taken into custody, including a 16-year-old juvenile.”

The driver – later identified as Juwan Brice, 34, of Hillside – was charged with eluding, receiving stolen property, and employing a juvenile in a motor vehicle theft.
