Police In Millburn Schools Friday, No Threat, But Be Vigilant: Superintendent
Rumors making their way around the region about a threat to schools Friday have prompted officials in many NJ towns to respond.
MILLBURN, NJ — Despite rumors making the rounds on social media about threats to schools for Friday, "no credible threat" has been received in the Millburn schools, Superintendent Christine Burton said Friday.
However, the police will have a presence in the schools that day. Burton said to stay vigilant.
"In light of threats to schools being made on social media, there will be an increased police presence at our schools today," Burton wrote Friday. "Law enforcement confirms there are no credible threats to our schools."

In response to these potential concerns, we have made provisions with the Millburn Police at all of our schools today, with an increased presence at all of our schools today.
We have been advised that this is not a credible threat to our schools, however we are taking additional precautions to secure our schools and the safety of staff and students.
The school district Security Department and law enforcement personnel will be monitoring chatter on social media.
We ask that staff, students, and parents also monitor these channels, and please alert the school
district of any concerning posts. If there is an immediate threat please contact the Millburn Police Department at 973-564-7001. We would like to remind students not to share such messages, and to report any potential threats that may come to their attention.
As always, the safety of our staff and students is our top priority. Please know that we are taking this seriously and addressing additional safety measures at all of our schools.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.j
