Power Goes Out At Short Hills Mall

The mall-wide outage lasted about 30 minutes and was caused by a JCP&L substation issue, management says.

A power outage at The Mall at Short Hills left store employees and personnel without electricity for about 30 minutes on Monday.

The outage hit around 8:26 a.m. and an all-clear was issued at 8:58 a.m., general manager Michael McAvinue told Patch.

McAvinue said that nobody was injured and no complications arose from the brief power failure, which resulted from a Jersey Central Power & Light issue at one of their substations.
