Proposed Millburn School Budget Bumps Taxes $252
The public hearing on the budget is scheduled for May 6.

MILLBURN, NJ - The average taxpayer in Millburn will be spending an additional $252 to fund the school district next year if the budget proposed at last Monday's Board of Education meeting is passed.
The school board approved submitting the Preliminary 2019-2020 school year budget to the County Superintendent for review and Superintendent Christine Burton said that the budget is a planning tool used by district leaders to manage the resources that support the programs, professional development and the learning environment that make up the gears of their strategic visioning.

According to the budget presentation, Millburn will be increasing the total budget 2.35 percent. The 2019-2020 budget is projected to be $91,479,460, up from $89,379,646 in 208-2019. The estimated school tax increase per $100,000 of assessed value is $25.17. Based on the average home in Millburn, which is assessed at $1,000,000 that would translate into a $252 increase
