Thursday marked the first of the three days of the annual downtown sidewalk sale, but the heavy rain was having its effect.
There were few shoppers in sight downtown around noon, and there were few stores with items actually set up on the sidewalks. Roxy Shoes, which also had a canopy, and Tea Together on Millburn Avenue had tables set on the sidewalk. Many stores, including Gito at the corner of Millburn Avenue and Main Street, had signs announcing the sale in their window.
The sale runs through Saturday. There is a chance of rain or thunderstorms each day. The event is sponsored by the Downtown Millburn Development Alliance.
