A New Jersey American Water spokesman told Patch on Tuesday afternoon that the company has completed work on Glen Avenue, where they had been installing valves on a transmission main.
“In June, [NJAW] finished a cleaning and lining project on the main... Installing the valves was the last phase of the project,” a company spokesman told Patch. “The valves had to be installed after summer when water demand is highest and we could not shut down the main during that time.”
“Beginning [Wednesday], we will be working along Millburn Avenue (from Lakawana to the Maplewood border) to install outside water meters at residential properties in preparation for a cleaning and lining project that will begin in the spring,” the spokesman added.
